Scoutineer is a browser extension that shows price comparisons for products you view on supported shopping sites. This policy describes what data the extension and our servers handle, and what they never touch.

What we collect

• When you view a product page on a supported site, the extension sends only that product's public details — title, price, brand, and product identifiers — to our server to find comparable offers at other retailers.
• A random anonymous identifier is attached to outbound affiliate links so retailers can report commissions to us. It contains no personal information and cannot be linked to you.
• Our servers retain standard request logs for up to 7 days, for abuse prevention and debugging only.

What we never collect

• Your browsing history.
• Page contents beyond the product details listed above.
• Account information, names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information.
• Payment or financial information.

Affiliate links

Scoutineer earns affiliate commissions when you buy through offers you click in the comparison panel. This is how the extension is funded, and it costs you nothing. Affiliate links are opened only by your explicit click — Scoutineer never rewrites pages, drops cookies, applies coupon or affiliate codes automatically, or redirects your browsing in the background.

Data sharing and selling

We do not sell data. We do not share data with third parties except as required to look up product offers (the product details above are sent to retailer and shopping-search APIs) and to report affiliate commissions.

Data retention

Product lookups are cached temporarily to keep the extension fast, then expire automatically. Server logs are retained briefly and then deleted. We keep no long-term record tied to you or your device.

Your choices

You can disable Scoutineer on any site with one click from its panel, or remove the extension entirely at any time through your browser's extension settings. Because we hold no account or profile for you, there is nothing further to delete.

If we make material changes, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
